THE FARM

The farm "Ulivello in Chianti" was born in October 2015 thanks to the passion of Federico and Leonardo for the agricultural world in which they grew up. Their parents, who have been leading  the winery “Torraccia di Presura since 1987 with great commitment and enthusiasm, encouraged them to manage independently a few hectares of olive groves and vineyards.

The close contact with the land and with the dynamics that regulate agricultural work has in fact contributed to shaping their character and mentality, teaching them that the best results and the greatest satisfactions are obtained only on the basis of a great job and a constant commitment.

Federico and Leonardo, in spite of their young age, have so decided to give birth to an agricultural and business reality under the banner of high-quality production and environmental sustainability. They would like to offer people both tasting and food service of their own products and food and wine specialties chosen with extreme care among the best Tuscan productions to make everyone known the cuisine and traditions of their region.

THE BUILDING AND THE GARDEN

The location of the farm is within a historical-rural complex that includes an important nineteenth-century villa: Villa Ulivello. The complex was neglected during the last decades of the last century, so it has been carefully restored in order to preserve its original structures and materials as well as part of the original furnishings and equipment. The activities of the farm take place in the rooms that used to be the stable, the carriage depot and the sharecropper house.

The surrounding garden has also been restored and furnished in order to create the ideal environment to carry out tasting and outdoor dining activities during the summer.

THE TERRITORY

The farm is located in the Chianti area, within the appellation DOCG Chianti Classico, halfway between the city of Florence, from the center of which is about fifteen kilometers, and Greve in Chianti. In less than one hour you can also reach San Gimignano and Siena, cities of art even well known for their food and wine and medieval traditions.

The farm, located on the ridge along which the Chiantigiana road runs, faces West on the gentle hills of Impruneta, while Eastward it enjoys a splendid panoramic view over the valley of the river Ema. It is a privileged starting point for easy hikes to discover the harmonious alternation of vineyards, olive groves and woods of pines, cypresses and oaks that characterize this territory, as well as the most typical vine growing methods of Tuscan viticulture.
